White Shadow

Using powdered lime as a drawing material, the leading edge of one tree’s shadow was traced through the course of a mid-summer’s day, as it moved across the courtyard. After marking the shadow’s movement, the abbreviated arc-like contours were selectively “filled-in” generously with lime – beneath the tree, itself, and in multiple fragment-shapes where the shadow extended, east to west.
The project dissipated gradually in subsequent Summer rains.
